Hi, can someone help me with a problem I have with my 1986 Accord
I recently took it into a Honda dealer and they told me I have a Code 3 warning on the computer. Does anyone know what a Code 3 warning means please? The car also has a few other problems and I believe that this may be causing these too, but I can't say for sure till I sort this out. Problems like: Idling too fast, Weird behaviour with the transmission Lock Up System. All assistance is greatly appreciated, and thank you for your help. Cheers Mike the Kiwi |

www.autozone.com has a fair amount of info on codes and offers some
troubleshooting advice. Go to the link above. Click on "Free Repair Guides" on the right. Put in your car's info. Keep clicking on "free repair guide" type links until you come to the choice "Driveability and Emissions Controls." Click on "Trouble Codes." Like John said, Code 3 is the MAP ( = Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. In the Usenet archives I have seen a fair amount of reports of having to replace this sensor. You might want to google at www.groups.google.com to compare your car's problems with others' with the MAP sensor code.
