Default AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - Recall

Question regarding the recall posted on http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ at
the beginning of the April this year, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number :
04V176000

What are the chances of taking care of this situation by dealer before
I bought my accord 10 days ago?

By law, they couldn't sell you the car without the recall having been
done.

But I wouldn't trust that fact with my life. I had my dealership go through
multiple Ody's before they found one that was not in the recall. none of
the vans they were going to give me had the recalls performed. Salesmen are
idiots and salesmanagers aren't any better.

The best advice is to check your VIN with the recall information. My
dealership was able to provide me with the VIN's in the recall then I was
able to verify myself that the Ody' I was about to drive away with was not
in the recall.

The sales geeks acted like they had no knowledge about the Ody recall; that
was until I told them about it. Can you tell I hate dealerships???

Honda is doling out parts slowly, and dealers are insisting you wait
for the recall notice. Not much chance AT ALL that the job's already
been done. You want that kind of service, go get a Mercedes or
something (maybe).

Hey, don't sweat it. This is a 1.1 million car recall. How many
transmissions have actually failed? One. O-N-E. That said, my
Accord has 654 miles on it, and I wish mine were already fixed, too.

If you want a real joke, search what Mitsubishi has been doing
regarding recalls, or lack of them. Also, they are now reportedly
searching the Internet for signs that Evo owners are racing them, then
canceling the warranties. Even though they virtually market the car
with this image/purpose.

those asshats passed the buck when my moms '93 eagle summit (mitsu built
mirage clone) had the drivers side seat belt mouse take a dump 4 years
into ownership. cable wore through, mouse jammed.

there were a shitload of complaints about the very problem on the NHTSA
site, which led to a recall. the jeep/eagle dealer said her VIN wasnt
affected, and mitsu told me its chryslers problem.

**** em both, with tree branches, sideways.
