Thanks for this ref, Sparky. I checked the ISO for the original and its
history (surprisingly, the first edition appears from the link you
posted to be dated as late as 1995), but to my shock the ISO actually
*charges* for their standards publications. Someone's got to pay for
their development, I suppose, and sales of pubs makes up 30% of the
budget, but it would seem a significant hindrance to adoption to NOT
make them widely available at no charge.
