Sometimes it's on a sticker inside the glove box or you can call your dealer and it may be in their computer. It's explained in the FINE manual. 'Curly' |

Are you serious about leaving the car running while you disconnect the battery? Letting the car run without a battery can damage electronic parts. I suggest you investigate one of the devices that apply power through the cigarette lighter to keep the radio powered up continuously. |

Is this only indicative of the (very) late Hondas? My wife's '97 Van has an
AM/FM/Casette that was talked about in the manual. We have a code plate that was provided with it, and the little red light flashes when the car is OFF, but I have disconnected the battery on numerous occasions while working on the engine (etc) and never had to enter the code. -- KWW "Mark Olson" <olsonm@tiny.invalid> wrote in message news:41104BCB.957BCFFA@visi.com... > Chip Stein wrote: > > > > tiredofthis12001@yahoo.com (Don) wrote in message news:<e647cf2.0408030950.93e0109@posting.google.co m>... > > > Will disconnecting the battery from this 98 Acorrd cause a problem > > > with the anti-theft device in the radio or anything? > > > > yes it will. i always leave the car running when i change them, just > > be carefull of the positive terminal. > > Are you serious about leaving the car running while you disconnect > the battery? If your radio's display doesn't say -CODE- or something similar when it is powered up, then it is running without. It all depends on what trim level you have. If it is an EX, then
disconnecting the battery will cause you to have to input a code to get it to work correctly. If not then you don't have to worry about it.
