Hi there,
I have a 98 civic lx (d16y7), and was wondering if there is a more practical way to ensure that belts are the correct tension? I have seen the deflection method in the book, and I think I have followed it, but i still feel that I may have over tightened the power steering belt. Any pointers? t |

Are you talking about new belts? New Hondas have belts so tight from the factory they'll twang if you pluck them. If they're not new, I wonder why you retensioned - I've run belts for 100K miles with no readjustment... and no signs of slippage. Modern belts are good in that respect.
