Ok, this is sort of a minor quibble but my previous car, even on just a mild
lane change, would automatically cancel the turn signal. I bought a 2000 EXv6 and the turn signals only cancel if you make a pretty sharp turn. A moderate to mild turn and you have to manually shut them off. Same on both sides. Is this normal for Hondas? Rick |

Hello,
You failed to mention what your previous car was but yes you do have to make a significant turn in order to have the turn signal turn off on most Hondas. That's not normal. I think you got used to a car with a defective turn
signal switch. Well it was equally defective on both sides and a nice defective feature.

I had a Ford that worked that way once. The blinkers would seldom stay on long enough to get to the turn that was being signaled. Royal PITA. Lane changes are why they make the switches such that they blink while you hold the lever half way down, then stop when you let go of it. I've got a 99 crv lx with the same problem. I think that there is a
plastic slip clutch in the steering column taht may be broken. Te turn signal stalk is fine. I'm going to go on a hunt to the junkyard and see if I can find a cheap replacement. |
