It apparently relates to the automatic transmissions. A number of Accords
and CR-Vs are being recalled in the US and Canada. The problem is insuficient lubrication that can cause gears to break and lock up and transmission. I had the tranny replaced in my 2000 Civic at 85,000 km and that got me worried about the reliability of their automatics. This was one of the reasons I got a manual in my 2003 Accord. I see now I made the right choice. And no flames please. I'm not saying Honda are crap or anything stupid like that but when so many are talking about bad trannies, you have to take notice. Honda will need to correct this blemish on an otherwise awesome car. Smoking a joint ? (Flame on)
I haven't seen CR-Vs being recalled for transmission problems. Most of the problems are with 5 speed auto transmissions...that's why my next car will have a manual tranny... The only Accords that are an issue with respect to transmissions are the 02 and older models. |
