Hi, a squeaking sound from pressing the clutch is becoming more apparent
lately. I have a 98 Civic Si (CDN). It seems like when the car is cold, the sound is really aubible. After say 30-60 min of driving there is zero to little noise. The sound is definitely coming from the clutch area around the rubber boot. I put a fair amount of grease on the shaft within the boot but it hasn't done much. Is there anything I can do? Thank you. |

unless you wanna spend $400 to drop the tranny, get used to the squeak.

Thank you. Lube the pin from which the pedal pivots as well as the spring attachment to the pedal. Also the point of attachment for the shaft to the master cylinder. -- Graham W http://www.gcw.org.uk/ PGM-FI page updated, Graphics Tutorial WIMBORNE http://www.wessex-astro-society.freeserve.co.uk/ Wessex Dorset UK Astro Society's Web pages, Info, Meeting Dates, Sites & Maps Change 'news' to 'sewn' in my Reply address to avoid my spam filter. |

I've had the same problem with my 98 Civic Hatch for several years.
Interesting enough, I haven't noticed any squeaking for the last several month. It most have gone away on it's own, or the weather is too warm.
