Car is a 1991 Honda Accord EX-R wagon.
When I got it, I wasn't able to adjust the temperature control on the dash. Moving the temp. valve in the engine compartment was annoying. I noticed the knob was broken so I bought a new knob and that worked. A few weeks later, the knob was hard to turn, it also would spring back. I forced it and I think I might've snapped the cable because now there is no tension and I can't adjust the temperature. I can feel a little click in a spot from the dash temp. dial but that's depending where I move the valve in the engine compartment. Is this an expensive fix? Can I do it myself? Do I need to take apart the dash? Please email tyung@NOSPAMualberta.ca (delete NOSPAM). Thanks Tony |

You folks might want to study the pages for a 91 Accord's heater system at:
http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/AccordManual/index.html The following topics (and accompanying links) at this site look promising: "Heater Assembly" "Heater Control Panel" "Heater Control Cables" Additional drawings that may be helpful appear at the Majestic online parts site under "heater control" for your particular make of Accord: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...catdisplay.jsp Updates welcome. Good luck. "CincyPSU" <cincypsu@aol.com> wrote > I also have the exact same problem w/my son's '91 Accord EX coupe. I am also > very interested in fix/cost........ J.M. |

Forgot to add:
www.autozone.com has free, step-by-step instructions for Hondas 1995 and under on your topic as well as many others. Look under "Repair Info" and then "Repair Guides." At some point the site prompts the user for his/her specific car make info. It actually looks a little better than the UK site I gave in my first post. If the instructions name a part whose location you don't know, sometimes clicking on "Component Locations" on the left and following the pointers will help. ("Component Locations" is not terribly reliable unfortunately; it comes up empty a lot.) |
