Hi,
Where can I buy part to "do it yourself" for power lock to my Accord 2004
DX model?
I'd also want to install power trunk lock as well.

I would imagine that there would only be one wiring harness for ALL Accords,
the only difference is that your car has nothing connected to the existing
harness. Check with the dealer if my assumption is correct then head to the
wreckers to see if you can find the parts.

I installed power/remote locks on my 98 DX Hatch. It required two remote
actuator (one for each door which cost $75 a piece) and an alarm system
(Alpine which cost about $300).

did you do power windows too?

if anything, id have 1 power window on the passenger side. unlocking the
passenger side door is no biggie, but its a PITA to roll down the window.

What is remote actuator? Is that a motor or solenoid or relay to pull the
rod inside door panel to lock/unlock the door?
And how about the wiring diagram?

yes.

it comes with the kit. google for "power door lock kits"

Not necessarily the case. For the '94 Civic there were three different
type of harnesses going to the door jamb, 26 pin connector for the
loaded versions (power mirrors, power windows, power door locks,
speakers), 8 pin for intermediate versions (power mirrors, speakers,
only 5 of the 8 pins were used) and 2 pins for the stripped version
(speakers only). On a car as new as 2004 all the signals may go on a
multiplexed data bus that is next to impossible to interface after
market-devices to. My guess is that getting the wires into the door in a
reliable, long lasting way will be the biggest problem in installing
power door locks.

I installed a kit from http://www.a1electric.com/catalog/cat_door.htm a
few years ago, part number W01F to be specific. It has worked great ever
since I installed it.

I picked up a kit for my '98 civic from Pricess Auto (local
surplus depot). The actuators can be purchased for about $10 a piece.
Then
you need to tie them in with the control box that comes with the kit. Or
you could do what i did, and tie it in with the alarm system I
had installed. There was already a remote for that, and the power locks
just tied in with that system.

What's the price differential between the DX & LX models?

It's about $3000 different between DX and LX
