Default Car Alarm Broken NEED HELP!!!

My car now sits at Wal-Marts parking lot. It's a 92 Accord that has
(what I believe is) an aftermarket car alarm system. About a week ago
I lost the keyless entry remote(GAH). So I get to wal mart and lock
both the doors. I come back with my stuff and unlock the car. The
alarm starting sounding in the parking lot. I got into the car and
tried to start it....no luck. I finally had to cut the speaker wire
with my knife so the thing would stop sounding. I still get the
dinging noise alarm noise in my car. I tried all the combinations of
locking all the doors, only unlocking the passenger side door.
Nothing is working. I can't find the alarm box and I am stuck. I had
to have a friend come and get me and my girlfriend (Very humiliating).
Anyways I need some help. The car will not turn over and therefore
will not start.

Thanks guys/gals

Adam

P.S. Before I left I took off the negative terminal to see if I could
"reset" the capacitors(I have no idea if that is how those things
work.)

I had the same problem a few weeks ago.. wife's remote stopped working..
and it's the only remote... So I had to research on how to do a manual
override..

this works for Code Alarm systems at least.. dunno what you got though..

If you can find the valet switch (or manual override button.. most
installers hide this button very well.. some don't), put the key in the
ignition and switch it to the ON position.. Then, press the valet button.
The car should start after this. Though, after turning the car off, (i
think) the alarm will automatically rearm itself after a few minutes.

Hope that helps.

A common place to put the alarm control box is behind the lower dash
panel on the driver's side. You'll have to remove that lower panel to
find it (usually a few screws and perhaps a few clips). Now you need to
find the starter cut relay. Look for butt-splices, after market
installers use them all the time, but automakers do not. You'll probably
find a relay tucked away somewhere, it should have two fat wires with
butt-splices on them and two thinner wires going to the alarm box. This
would be the starter cut relay. Remove the relay and short the two fat
wires together and you should be able to start the car. You want to be
fairly certain that you found the right relay, wouldn't be too much fun
shorting together the wrong wires.

As for the valet switch, I have seen them mounted to the bottom side of
the steering column, above the pedals.

All the alarm installations I see have the main unit right under the
steering wheel. Find the unit and unplug the connectors. That will disable
most alarm with only starter cut. Unplugging alarm with secondary defense
like ignition kill will not work.
