Default driving accord lx on gravel roads?

Hello,
Was planning to drive to some falls in the north
Georgia region (Rabun County) and heard that some
of the roads are gravel roads that lead from the
Rabun Beach recreation area.

I've never driven my accord lx on gravel roads.

Is this bad for the tires? engine?

Let me know and thanks!

mostly the body, due to stone chips. right behind all the wheels, front
especially.

Passenger tire degradation on gravel road is dependent on type of gravel
and driving style. On my Civic, my 'spin the tires on acceleration, lock
the wheels during braking, and slide the car on corners' style is pretty
bad for tires. On one tire, a portion of the tread block chipped off,
exposing the casing. That was on mixed round and crushed gravel.

If you take it easy, the tires should be ok.

Neither. But if the gravel is small enough to get thrown against the
car, you'll chip the paint off, big time. If you don't have mud flaps
on all four tires, consider it.

Also, if you get into sandy territory, the front end can sink up to
the axle. It will happen much more readily than a rear-drive car,
because the front tires apply the power, they can turn and make
trenches, and they carry 2/3 of the weight. I nearly lost my first
front wheel drive car (almost brand new) to the tide after getting it
stuck miles from anywhere.
