Hello All,
Will need to purchase a car for a new job I'll be starting in 4 or 5 weeks, been doing a lot of the preliminary leg work and decided a new car suits me best (lots of daily mileage will accumulate), and a Honda Civic would be nice, but what has got me is the delivery time??? Can't seem to find any info on that anywhere... Really curious about a new Civic LX, Manual (remember the lots of miles part<grin>), side air bags, don't care bout color, do care about the extra alarm add on and, believe it or not, the trunk tray. Any thoughts or experiences you can relate? Will go Auto if manual makes the schedule impossible... I'm in NYC if that helps. And it also explains why I don't know. Haven't "owned" a new car in 15 years (cheaper to rent a weekend a month than pay the insurance alone here!) --Andrew |

Look at it this way: If what you want is not on a particular dealer's lot, they can call around and see if another dealer has one that they are willing to give up. They can even get them in from another state (expect to pay a bit more if they have to bring one in). The dealer will know exactly what the lead times and availability are like. And their info will be a lot more up-to-date and specific to your area than some guy posting on Usenet. -- TeGGeR® The Unofficial Honda FAQ http://www3.telus.net/public/johnings/faq.html How to find anything on the Internet or in Usenet Groups: www.google.com www.groups.google.com |

Yeah, but you want something that's in plentiful supply. If you have to make 5 calls to find exactly what you want, I'd be surprised. |

Got my civic lx last year and took about a month to find the car I wanted,
but I was specific with color and I wanted 5 speed on it too. They got it all the way from Florida ( I'm in Jersey). Or goto honda's web site and do an inventory search. New order from fatctory takes 8-9 weeks, if they are still buliding them. It's that simple. And don't pay more than $14K, before tax and title. |
