Have an 85 accord. Changed the front brake pads and since that point
in time it shakes violently at speeds above 60 mph. Had the tires balanced - no change. Rotated back to front - no change. Noticed a burning smell on right front and wheel and caliper get much hotter than driver side. Bled brakes - no change in shake or heat/smell. Changed right front caliper - no change in heat/smell, shakes at 65, not 60. Brakes in a straight line with minimal steering shake when brakes are applied - so fairly confident it is not the rotors. Any suggestions? Can reply here or to rkim007@hotmail.com Thank you. |

Assuming you performed all the listed work correctly, the only other things that come to mind are a bad shock/strut or a bad CV joint. |

The burning smell and the hotter caliper should have given you a clue.- My guess is, you got a stuck(frozen) piston in that caliper. JerryR |

Gotta love Usenet....my son's '99 Civic is experiencing burning smell
and vibration at certain speeds, too. We'll have the mechanic look at wheel bearings as the culprit. rkim007@hotmail.com (R.K.) wrote: Have an 85 accord.
