If my driver side door is completely shut and I lock the doors, the lock
stays in the lock position. However, if door is open and I lock it manually or with power lock switch, it locks and pops open. Finally, if door is open and I pull the door latch to the open position and lock the door manually or with the power lock switch, it locks and remains in the locked position. Anyone know why it pops open when the door is open? Thanks, Roger |

I guess i just adapted to the car's mutations. The guys at the Honda dealership had no clue, so after 2 hours of work, i said i ain't paying a cent, american or kenyan. |

Not weird at all. My '99 Prelude works this way. Same thing with manual
locks on the '84 and '90 ludes. As another poster mentioned, you have to go the extra step of holding the handle if you want to lock yourself out of the car! Agreed. The purpose is to reduce the likelihood that you will lock yourself out. Holding the latch handle while locking the driver door is a tradition that goes back at least to the '74 Civic. |
