Hi folks,
I bought a 93 Del Sol SI last fall. It had an Alpine deck in it that worked poorly on FM. I replaced it with a Honda unit from a wrecker. It worked great for about two weeks, and then the same problem that I had with the Alpine unit started up. The unit has a lot of static when the radio is on. It does not matter whether the engine is running or not. The static sound increases with volume and is constant whether it is tuned to a station or not. I tried plugging a length of wire into the antenna connection and it is not affected. For that matter, the noise level is the same regardless of whether the antenna is attached. This suggests to me that the noise is coming on the power lines, but I don't know where to go from here. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dan (This account is not used for email.
