Researching for an Accord purchase, I noticed that there are 125 TSB's
for 03 Accords ranging from coolant in the oil pan to straining ATF fluid. The same year Camry XLE 4cy Auto nd they don't seem as serious. Could some of the difference be attributed to Honda being quicker to address customer complaints, etc. vs Toyota. Having owned both early 90's makes, my gut feeling is that the two most reliable Japanese makes have lost quite a bit of quality edge. If I didn't want the new safety features like side curtain air bags, I'd be shopping for older used Hondas, Acuras, or Toyotas. I am repalcing a totaled 91 Accord EX Wagon with 215k wonderful miles. Any input is appreciated. Gregg |

The difference is that the Camry was redesigned a year prior to the Accord. So
the current design was introduced as '02 model. They had a year to iron out all the kinks. My brother owns a '03 Camry and it's a fabulous car. No problems so far, after a year. ____________________________________ How to turn off 'Maintenance Required" light: 1. Hold trip/reset button on dash 2. Turn key to "ON" or start engine 3. Hold button til light goes out --------------------------------------------------- |

Personally, I'd go with the car that has the better suspension system
since the car's driving attitude would be a major factor guiding my decision. However, the Camry is a very refined car with specification that compares closely to the Accord. I think, personal taste would be the deciding factor, instead of issues involving reliability or mechanical components. Pars "G.R. Didnt he sell it to pay for his defense? |
