Almost went for the hybrid, but acceleration felt much slower, the trunk space is really compromised, and I must have a sun roof. -- Gerald Fay <gejfay____remove@comcast.net> |

I wouldn't have noticed, if it hadn't been pointed out. I miss the folding rear seat, which I suppose could be called trunk space, but the battery pack just isn't that large. I don't like sun roofs. I need a four door. I think the acceleration is better than an LX, in nominal usage. Under heavy acceleration, the Hybrid might be slower, but typical pickup away from a stop is quieter and smoother in the hybrid with CVT than in an LX with automatic. Maybe that's why Honda sells different models. ;-) -- --- Clarence A Dold - Hidden Valley (Lake County) CA USA 38.8-122.5 |

THe EX is liek a Corolla, mileage-wise - about 30-32 mpg in real world driving. The HX gets about 35-38, and the Hybrid, 40-42. The HX is the no-brainer choice, IMO - less money and almost the same mileage. The CVT is also a lot less problematic by nature than a normal automatic transmission. |

Heh. No, just that they are more costly and have more moving parts by nature. OTOH, Honda makes decent transmissions. |

A manual transmission should improve fuel economy with any of the Civic models, as well as costing less to buy. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Timothy J. The Civic EX has a MOONroof, not a sunroof.(There is a
difference).Sunroofs are typically larger so that a person can stand up through them. The moonroof is just a small sliding/tilt up window that provides extra natural interior light through sunlight and some ventilation.MOST(not all) sunroofs also do not activate electrically;they are removed as an add-on panel feature and usually opaque. The moonroof in the EX also has an interior shade that can be pulled across so that you can "hide" the moonroof from the inside. |

Moon/Sunroofs I also find improve ventilation on a warm day so here in the Northwest I don't need to use airconditioning as much. -- Gerald Fay <gejfay____remove@comcast.net> |

I would not be able to get better mileage with a stick. I have spoken to people who have owned both and they confirm that the CVT gives better mileage in real world driving. -- --- Clarence A Dold - Hidden Valley (Lake County) CA USA 38.8-122.5 |
