We want to be the first kids on the block with a Ford Escape Hybrid so we can dump the 14mpg Dodge Durango. I am very pleased with my Civic Hybrid. The mileage is a big plus, but I like the car beyond just the mileage. It is smooth and quiet. The CVT and Hybrid work so well that it is a far different car than the gas-only Civic. If the Pilot was available in a Hybrid, we would buy one. We are putting $200 per month worth of gasoline into the Dodge. If we could spend $140 of that toward a new vehicle, and $70 toward gas, that would be a great thing. She needs more interior volume than the Civic provides. I'm trying to convince her that the Escape is big enough. She's not convinced, and will probably get a small enclosed trailer to go with it. -- --- Clarence A Dold - Hidden Valley (Lake County) CA USA 38.8-122.5 |

It's the SUV to get, IMO, as 30mpg will really pay for itself fast. $100 a month towards gas that you save adds up fast. |

That's the same troll line you toss out every time the Hybrid is mentioned. I have already recouped the difference in price. I actually started a spreadsheet similar to yours to track the gallons, mileage, and cost of gas on my Accord. I always said I'd do something like that when I bought brand new car. |

Except the turbo diesel gets either zero or infinite gas mileage depending
on how you look at it, since diesel isn't gasoline. ;P "Lynn McGuire" <NOSPAM.winsim@NOSPAM.winsim.com> wrote in message news:40a126bd$0$17092$811e409b@news.mylinuxisp.com ... > > What Honda model has the best gas mileage OTHER than the hybrid? > > The new turdo diesel accord that they are shipping in Europe since > January of this year. > > Lynn > > |

Prices are: 5 speed manual continuously variable automatic without front side airbags $13,710 $14,710 with front side airebags $13,960 $14,960 Standard features include: * power mirrors and door locks * AM/FM/CD stereo with 4 speakers * cruise control * tachometer This is a great commuter car.
