in the shop manual. Most shops will let you photocopy it.

The mast is a separate unit from the motor. Unless you want to see about
some aftermarket thing that might not fit, I'd go with a dealer. It's $39.
Manchester Honda
http://www.manhonda.com/ap/index.cfm...6&PG=3&PID=870
And Majestic Honda
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/
http://tinyurl.com/24ez7

offer online ordering, which is nice if you don't have a local dealer
available.

Instructions: well, you can try getting a shop to photocopy, but that
doesn't always work. It's essentially three 10mm (?) nuts, a multi-point
electrical connector, a coax connector for the cable into the antenna all
in the trunk (remove the inner trunk liner to access), and the chromed
slotted nut on the outside at the antenna mast base. Once removed, you can
see how to separate/replace the mast from the motor assembly.

Good luck,
Arthur

hi, Arthur:

Thanks, I also found the following link at
http://home.earthlink.net/~michaelpk...tenna_Mast.htm which has
instruction in details.

I have problems to open the "special nut". It said it will be much easier
to use special antenna nut wrench. I don't won't to spend money to buy
this special wrench. Any other good ideas to open the nut?

thanks,
mike

Whoa, that's a beautiful site...this guy has documented a few of the things
that I also thought of documenting (main for this group) but never got the
time to do.

Yeah, I hear you on "special tools"...if that nut has never been messed
with, then it will be tight. You can see the shape of the tool that they're
using in the photo, so perhaps you can whip something like that up if you
happen to have access to a machine shop.

Otherwise you could get a *large* set of channel-lock pliers
(in case you're not tool-inclined, they look like this:
www.matadorcoupe.com/seebee65/channel_lock.jpg), use a shop towel to
prevent marring of the nut chrome surface, and remove the nut that way. You
want large-ish channel locks, where the face of each jaw is 1/2" wide and
you want some with at least 12" handle to do the job. That won't be cheaper
than buying the special tool, but at least you'll have a nice new set of
channel locks in your toolbox.

Good luck,
Arthur

hi Arthur:

thanks, I ordered antenna mast, nut and insulator for about $52 plus
shipping from Majestic Honda. I just installed it and the antenna is
working fine now. I thought the motor is broken after I opened the antenna
motor unit to take out the broken cable, but later I realized that I have
to close the trunk in order to operate the antenna. The instruction didn't
mention that. I think Accord automatically shutdown the power for antenna
motor if trunk is opened.

thanks again

By the way, I also found out that the following store posted at ebay also
offers quite a few antenna mast, but not sure if those antenna masts are
good or not.
