Hi,
I've recently bought a 1991 Honda Concerto 1.6 EX 16 valve. Its an automatic and it has one very annoying trait: between 60 and 80 mph backing off the throttle causes the torque convertor to unlock which makes the engine speed jump by about 200rpm. Applying pressure the pedal re-locks it and the revs drop again. At least I'm pretty sure its the torque converter, kick-down works fine. I think this transmission is used in other Honda models. Has anyone else experienced this or can give any advice? I took it to one garage but they didn't have a clue. I phoned the local Honda dealer but over the phone he couldn't speculate and I'm reluctant to write him a blank cheque to investigate. TIA Tim |
