Default Hard shifting Civic/clutch master cylinder leaking--help

My 5-speed '94 Civic EX coupe has begun to shift hard... that is, i need to use
somewhat more force to shift through the gears. the shifts used to be easier
and silkier.

i am a bit overdue to replace the transmission fluid...will that likely solve
the problem?

might it be low on fluid? (i'll check but it's not the easiest fluid to check)

i was told that the clutch master cylinder is leaking. are these two problems
related? do i need to immediate replace the part or is there some quick 'n
dirty fix? (i'll be selling the car in a couple of months so obviously i dont
want to put too much money in it now).

thanks in advance for any help, jt
