My daughters 90 civic is giving a '17' error code.
The manual shows this as a speed sensor problem. Just had the timing belt replaced. Could a connector associated with that have been left unpluged? Can anyone tell me where to look ? thanks mpm |

The speedo sensor is mounted to the back of the gauge cluster for 88-91's.
It is driven by the speedo cable. It speedo is reading proper speed, the VSS is a bad or has a bad connection. What model is her 90 Civic??????? I have a 91 cluster without tachometer that should fit right in......... <bigfootmoorman@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:ZLMmc.237$Ny6.875@mencken.net.nih.gov... > My daughters 90 civic is giving a '17' error code. > The manual shows this as a speed sensor problem. > Just had the timing belt replaced.
