Default What is the best Honda auto ever? 86-89 Accords?

I heard that 86-89 Accords were one of the best made Hondas and also one of
the best values. Does anyone agree? What other Hondas were considered good
Hondas?

I know someone who bought a '88 Accord with 200K miles for $900 and drove an
additional 22k miles without a problem.

We had both an '86 and an '88 Lxi. The '86 was purchased new, and the
'88 was used. Both were great little cars, but not even in the same
league as our 2003 EX V-6.

2000-2002 Accords, as long as you stayed away from the 6 cylinder
automatic models. Those transmissions were, um, problematic.

But the 4 cylinder versions, especially with manual transmissions, were
superb cars--better, dare I say, than the current model. Without doubt.

the generation following that are still very popular. the '95ish era accord
isnt that popular, but the 98ish era is, but the current generation isnt.
hopefully the next gen accord and civic will be back on track.

Didn't you say on 3-26 "That's only 187,500 miles.... big deal."? So
I suppose 12500 more miles puts this car in a whole different league,
moron.

I am too a defender of the Gen6 model. The format is just right (Gen7 is
big). The chassis is really great. For look alone, my choice goes to the
Accord EX(-R) '94-95. Probably the Gen7 is the best, overall; too bad that
its front-end is a deal breaker for me.

As for '86-89 Accord, its specs in sizes and dimensions could almost compare
to a new Civic

I have a 2002 Accord EX-V6 and have been experiencing jerky behavior
in the tranny.
Do you have any further data on these transmissions, or any links to
more info?
This car was purchased as a "Honda Certified" vehicle, with full
warranty, and a fix would be free.
Thanks.
