After testing all 4, they decided that the Protege was too small inside, the Sentra's seats were uncomfortable, and the Civic's ride was too rough. So they chose the Corolla (they bought an '04 CE) and have been very happy with it so far. I know this is a Honda newsgroup (I am the proud owner of a '93 Accord), but even I feel that the current Corolla is a better car than the current Civic. Not so much for the ride quality (which doesn't concern me personally), but the Corolla's engine has more power than the base Civic engine and has a smoother shifting automatic tranny (if that's your tranny of choice). |

Both will serve him well. The all-new Mazda 3 may very well be the new benchmark in that class of car...only time will tell. |

It's only real downside it it's fuel economy. It burns almost as much gas as a 4-cylinder Accord, which is pretty shitty considering it's competing with the Civic and Carolla. |

I like H.H.R. ...sometimes he has clever replies, though sometimes not.
This response was not one of his best.
