Your efforts are probably complicated by slight corrosion, accumulated over the years. Grab the door panel with one hand about mid-point, about where the door latch striker is, or at the bottom--using that as your main yank point--then place one finger under the window sill trim's rear edge and amplify your yanking efforts thereby. There are metal spring clips at the top that grasp (rather firmly) a flange at the top of the door. You want to pull sharply enough to break the panel free, but not bias your efforts such as to cause the sill trim strip to come loose or the curved upper portion of the door panel to crack. Yank evenly in both places and it will pop free. Aside from the above, does it appear to you that the door pull handle/armrest is still attached to the door? -- TeGGeR® The Unofficial Honda FAQ http://www3.telus.net/public/johnings/faq.html How to find anything on the Internet or in Usenet Groups: www.google.com www.groups.google.com |

Hi!
> No trick. Just yank upwards, sharply and HARD. Yep, that did the trick. A friend of mine came over, he did it with a Civic before and he said the same thing. So with a lot brute force we got it out (without breaking anything). Thanks! > Aside from the above, does it appear to you that the door pull > handle/armrest is still attached to the door? No, it wasn't. On that particular model, it is only connected to the door with three strong screws. The door handle itself is connected to the door trim panel itself and won't go off (and doesn't have to in order to get the panel off). Bye, Arno |
