Did you check ALL the fuses? On some models there is one fuse for each
window. Did you measure the passenger side to see if there is power going to the motor? You could have a failed motor. yacko wrote: > > after my car got robbed...my window stopped working... the passgenger switch from both sides of the doors dont work..but my driver window does..ive replaced the switches and its not them. i was wondering if anyone has any idea what could be the problem.. i know that theres no power going to that side for some reason... thanks.. |

ive checked dthe fuses ..all working...checked the power of the motor by giving it power from alternate source(window goes down)... could it be that its not grounded? ive checked the power on the passenger side and theres no power going. anyone know where the main power wires connect to or any leadin info.. thanks..

I don't have the wiring diagram for your car, but it is probably similar
to my '94 Civic. Battery voltage for the passenger window comes from the fuse box, splits up and goes to both the switch in the driver's door and the switch in the passenger door. If you pull out the switch in the passenger door there should be battery voltage at one of the 5 wires going to the switch as long as the ignition is on. Ceck if this is the casee. Ground comes from a wire in the car, goes into the driver's door, goes through the power windows main shut-off switch (the one that disables the passenger side window switch) then to the driver's side switch for the passenger window. This switch has two outputs. Normally both are connected to ground through the switch (when operating the button, one or the other is connected to battery voltage). Both these wires (normally grounded) go out from the driver's door, through the car and into the passenger door and to the passenger switch. This long path is the only ground path for the passenger window motor. Lots of places where a wire break could happen. I would suspect the on-off switch in the driver's door. If the passenger side refuses to go both up and down, I would say it is almost certainly that switch or the wires in its immediate surroundings. If the fault is only on "up" or only on "down" I would suspect the connections in the door jambs (just because they have seen a lot of movement over the past 13 years). > > ive checked dthe fuses ..all working...checked the power of the motor by giving it power from alternate source(window goes down)... could it be that its not grounded? ive checked the power on the passenger side and theres no power going. anyone know where the main power wires connect to or any leadin info.. thanks.. |

The wire harnesses connect to the doors with a plug, which is latched inro a socket at the front of the door. Check that the plugs in both doors are properly seated and that the wires/pins are not damaged. IME body shops often break the latches because they don't know how to unlatch them and then the plug gets pulled out slightly every time you open the door.
