My check engine light came and stayed on in my 1996 Honda Accord about a month ago. I took it to a place and they said the code they got was that my EGR valve needed to be replaced which I had done. I got 3 miles from the shop and the light came back on. When I took it back the code they received was Insufficient Vacuum to EGR Valve. They replaced the vacuum hoses to the EGR valve and cleaned my fuel system; however the light is still coming on. They said that they couldn't do anything else for me. Any suggestions??

Any suggestions?? at the least , have the shop give you a full refund and put your old parts back in, since that wasnt the problem, you should'nt get charged. I would suspect the egr control solenoid or a coolant temperature controlled vaccuum valve. I have the service manual but not with me. Ill report something if you cant get the problem solved. |
