Get an aluminum-cored rad if you can. They last much longer than the brass ones. Brand's not really important. Metal tanks aren't either. It's hard to find anyone who will recore rads these days, so the metal tank thing isn't the issue it used to be. I had a Valeo for several years in my '91 Integra. The fins rotted just like the OEM one did. The car currently has a Visteon plastic-tank, aluminum-core one. Visteon is a division of Ford, by the way. When the fins finally disappeared on the Valeo, I figured I could take advantage of the metal tanks and get the thing recored. No way José. NO- body in my area does that any more. One major advantage of aftermarket for rads is that you can get a dual-core for less than a single-core OEM rad. (Where does Honda get off trying to sell me a single core OEM rad for $625 when I can--and did--get a much better dual-core for $200?) -- TeGGeR® |

As far as aluminum or not, I don't know. They usually paint the brass ones black. Aluminum ones are left bare. -- TeGGeR® |

I went to performanceradiator.com and got one for about $135 for my 96
Accord Ex. It is a refurbished OEM. It even came with a new cap. It was exactly like the old one. It was a single core aluminum but for a Honda engine thats' all you really need. Cools the same too, and it was cheap. It's aluminum/plastic, single core. WW |
