Hi all,
I just purchased a 2000 Honda Accord Coupe and am finding it uncomfortable to drive because of my height (6'5"). Any ideas on how to modify and make it more commfortable? I think it's because it's so low to the ground that I am having my problems with my back. Thanks. Tom |

Tom, I think you're screwed.
I'm 6'4" and bought a 2003 Accord 4-door LX because sitting in the EX (which comes standard with a sunroof and therefore 2 1/2 less inches of headroom) was a lesson I learned not to repeat on my bought-used 94 accord coupe. I'd have purchased a fully-loaded top of the line if not for that one physical spcifications difference. I'm also quite pissed that I won't be able to trade up for one of the new Acura TLs in a couple of years, either, because they ALL comes with a sunroof standard, and as a result, not enough headroom for me (and I REALLY want one, too....). Trying to get someone to modify the seats in your car is not gonna be easy, since I think nobody would warranty such work as meeting DOT standards. Your other option is to tilt the car seatback down a little all the time, but that will mess up your lower back something fierce, IMO (I had lumbar surgery 8 years ago and learned that lesson the hard way too!) I think you need to sell it and get a different car. Sorry. -Steve In article <74b707b2.0402161932.59d49f7c@posting.google.com >, T. However, if you have side airbags in your current seats, you will lose those. There are authorized dealers around the country. You will need to buy the seat, an adapter, and slide mechanism. www.recaro-nao.com Mike |
