The car comes with a keyless remote standard. The manual says that the
car can't be started without the key because of a chip in the key fob.

Can the car be jump started? Do I need an add-on security system that
disconnects ignition or fuel pump?

I called 4 Honda dealers - two tried to sell me a security system from
$399 to $599. The other two asked me why I would want something like
that?

no.

The chances of ur '04 being stolen is about as high as tickle_me_asshole_elmo
going out on a date: nil.

Unless you're stupid and leave the car running while you go in to get a
slurpee.

How to turn off 'Maintenance Required" light:

1. Hold trip/reset button on dash
2. Turn key to "ON" or start engine
3. Hold button til light goes out

Thanks for the reply. Supposedly, Accords are the second most
frequently swiped cars (after Camrys).

Yeah, '94 Accord. Which doesn't have the immobilizer btw. Honda began
installing it only starting with '98.

Many of the pros use towtrucks. No fancy key will stop that. Otherwise,
you are safe.
