02 Accord Coupe V6 automatic. When cruising at a steady speed and I push the
gas pedal, there is a slight hesitation. Not quite a bog, but it just seems to hesitate, then starts to build power. Power is good, no miss. Just slow response to throttle. If I nail the throttle, it does fine. I'm talking about just feeding in a little throttle, not WFO. Dealer said he can't find anything wrong and admits he can't feel the hesitation. I've driven enough vehicles to know this is definitely a hesitation. Is this a normal trait for this car? |

Likely the way the ECU is programmed for fuel economy puposes.

That's what I figured and probably the reason the dealer says there is nothing
wrong. To beat it all, fuel economy isn't that impressive. 200 hp with the same fuel economy as a 400 hp Z06 Corvette. Is it possible to reprogram the Honda ECM? |

The ignition timing may look correct, but the cam will be out of time, causing hesitation, and poor mileage. 'Curly' ============= -- |

I'm beginning to think it's just the nature of the beast. I've noticed the same thing in my '03 as well. Casey |

It really sucks. Otherwise, I love the car. It's my first Honda car after
many Honda motorcycles. But, it will probably be my last as it is very annoying. I like to be able to just ease into the throttle sometimes but you have to jump on it to get any response. I'll check on the timing belt situation. Or, have the dealer do it as that would be a warranty issue. |

Bring it back to Honda and tell them you're not happy. Have them re-set the
ECM, and make sure all the TSBs are taken care of for your car! "MWhite4981" <mwhite4981@aol.com> wrote in message news:20040212073847.04082.00000934@mb-m05.aol.com... > It really sucks. | I hesitate to askI have recently developed a severe hesitation problem. Cyl 1 shows compression of 120. Other 3 have 150. If I squirt oil into 1, it also shows 150. There has been no change in compression or vacuum (18), but the hesitation and | tom | Honda 2 | 4 | 16 Apr 2005 04:42 pm |
