I just bought a 2000 civic that didn't have an owner's manual in the
glove compartment. I've been looking to buy one on ebay. I notice there are two types of books available. An owner's manual and service manual. Would I be better off getting the service manual since it probably has more tips on how to repair the car or do I need both? |

Get both at http://www.helminc.com Keep the owners manual in the glove box. And the service manual with the tool box. __________________ Note: To reply, replace the word 'spam' embedded in return address with 'mail'. N38.6 W121.4 |

You definetely want the owner's manual, but promise me you'll read it. It
really has some useful things in it, and will answer some simple questions that people ask all the time. It just tells you how to treat your car right, and how some of the stuff works. You won't need the service manual if you plan to do work on your car. I've heard the Helm manual is good, Chilton's are no good IMHO, and Haynes are okay for basic stuff.... I agree. Owner's manual .. .but unless you're going to work on the car
yourself you don't need the service manual. Helms manual = Honda Factory Manuals. If you were to look on the back of your Factory Honda's Owner's manual to order Service manual... you're ordering it with Helm. I believe Honda uses them to print and sell all their service manuals. The Service manual is huge.. will not fit in your glovebox, if it does you won't fit anything else in it.
