I was closer to the computer than I was to the glove compartment when it came up. I sit behind a terminal all day, it really cost me nothing to post a quick question and check for answers. My boss at work owns an Accord. I asked him first, because again, he was closer at hand than the manual. Why is it that people think there's some hard and fast rule out there that says the manual must always be the first stop, no matter how inconvenient it is? Should I have not asked him when I passed him in the hall, because I hadn't checked the manual first? No -- because it took a total of about 5 seconds and didn't cost anybody anything. The more interesting question to me is why so many people have the time to waste writing meaningless responses and whining about it. It cost you people far more time and apparently emotional distress than it did me. If you don't like the question, don't answer it. If you answer stupid questions, people will keep asking them. If you waste your time complaining about the fact that people ask stupid questions, well, welcome to the Net, you must be new here. By the way thanks for the most helpful response I got. ![]() |

It is people like you who makes dealerships look at all people that
come into the service shops like idiots. Is it really going to kill you first to go out to your car and look at the index first? Usenet should be used for issues/concerns that would not be covered by other means first and even then, a large majority of issues can be found in google's news search. That is the general rule within this group. Put it this way, you've wasted a good 5 minutes writing this post and you still don't have the answer! These responses are amazing. You all neglected one important
item. How do you reset this silly warning? I own a 2001 Accord I bought used and the previous owner lost the owners manual. I too had this same problem. If I'm not mistaken, I saw the dealer turn the key on while pressing the trip odometer button. Is this correct? I would love to consult my manual if I actually had one. I am in the process of ordering one from Honda, but it would have been nice to know that this 10 flashes of the maintenance light was really nothing to worry about. Oh, this is my first Honda and I do agree that consulting the manual IS a very smart thing to do and I would certainly have done that if this car had one. |
