I saw some auctions on Ebay that claim to sell HID bulbs for 2003
Honda Accord. They are selling for about $20 a pair. They seem a bit cheap for HID lights. Can someone please comment on whether these are of any value? Thanks in advance. |

Three words: DO NOT BUY!
The bulbs will not last long and the lifetime warranty? Well, the seller will be long gone for it to be any of use. Stop being a cheapskate and go buy a pair of Sylvania Silverstar ($20 each) from Kragen or Autozone. They are the best and is backed by a true warranty. Not exactly, in addition: some would be brown some would be filled with cream some would be filled with nuts |

They are the best and is backed by a true warranty. http://www.sylvania.com/auto/sstar_faq.htm "What is the life expectancy of SilverStar? The life expectancy of a SilverStar halogen light source is dependent on the driver's use of the lights, which vary by season, time of day and number of miles driven. We estimate the SilverStar halogen lights to have a life span of up to one year under average driving conditions. " |

They are the best and is backed by a true warranty. You are very confused. Sylvania Silverstar is a blue bulb - IOW a scam which appeals to those who would choose a headlamp based on the color of light it puts out. The XtraVision at half the cost is a better choice and puts out approx the same light. I'll add that there is firm evidence that if a color is preferred, a slightly yellowish tinge to headlamp color is better from the POV of reflected glare in fog, rain and on wet roads. See the http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/tech.html If they are HID bulbs, where is the high voltage going to come from? It cannot be included for that price. Anyway, HID bulbs are not compatible with the reflector/lens used for regular halogen bulbs and would give an illegal and bad beam pattern which would not improve your vision, as well as blind other road users. IOW the only way to upgrade to HID, if that's what you want, is to exchange the entire headlamp assembly... if one exists which fits your car.
