I have a '94 Accord Stn. Wagon. I got a new key cut and it was cut
from a blank that is a little bit shorter than the original. As a consequence I can't push it in far enough to allow it to turn back and be removed from the ignition. Anyway around this? Can I defeat the interlock temporarily? For the record, the car is in park and the indicator on the dash shows that it is in park. I tried disconecting the negative terminal of the battery but no luck. Sugggestions? gary |

If you have access to a Dremel, you could cut off the key's head so that the head is only as wide as the shank. This would prevent the head from striking the bezel and allow the key to travel a bit further in. I suppose if you had a set of good tin snips or bolt cutters with enough leverage, you could use those instead. -- TeGGeR® |

wow, thats a pretty funny situation u got there
![]() the lock is mechanical, so no use playing with the battery, you can always disassemble the whole block ![]() "gary" <garywhite@ca.inter.net> wrote in message news:e96g00lb2aj5ne9tvon4j2s6e10klme1rh@4ax.com... > I have a '94 Accord Stn. Push a tiny indented button on the side and the key cylinder it pops right out with ignition turn to on. I'm talking about a `93 Accord. I had this happened to me often, the key was cut too short. Actually, I made a copy key with a file and a blank (uncut) key. I don't know how you feel about removing the key cylinder but it was a simple problem for me. Tibur |
