It looks like someone just broke my right front passenger side light cover
lens. It looks like there are two pieces that are cracked (two separate covers). How easy is it to replace and where can I find one for a good price? Is there a good Honda forum on the net, especially for Civics? |

It's easy to replace. A good place (so I hear) for Honda parts is http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com, never tried them but others say they're good. Guess you could look in junk yard as well. I looked around, then couldn't wait and epoxied the two pieces together. Part of the reflector is missing, but it seems to hold up really well (that was a few months ago). |

It appears that I need a two piece replacement. One is white and the smaller one is orange. How do you pull the old cover off and replace the new one. I was looking for screws. Do you simply ply it off using a screwdriver from the outside, or is there a way by lifting the hood? The beauty of owning an older car is not paying for collision and theft because of its reduced book value. The drawback is the extra maintenance that will be needed. As far as damage by kooks, you can't help it if you park the car on the street. |

Just found this on the net. It's the fourth item down:
http://www.partstrain.com/cgi- bin/pt/index?mv_session_id=t7cv85Ev&mv_pc=15&cat=10&year= 1995&make=HONDA&mode l=CIVIC It appears that its the whole corner light assembly for $15.95. It's a pretty good buy. The closeup is here. I wonder how easy it is to install. They may not sell the lens cover by itself. If that's the case $20 with shipping isn't bad. I'll call my local dealer and see what his ripoff price is. http://www.partstrain.com/cgi- bin/pt/details?mv_session_id=t7cv85Ev&mv_pc=59&sku=18%2d3 181%2d00&year=1995&m ake=HONDA&model=CIVIC |

The lens is glued / welded to the housing, so you'll have to buy the
whole assembly. You can buy the OEM part for $ 24.10 from http://tinyurl.com/2j2d4 (item number 27). They add $5 for handling and another charge for shipping. Replacing it is very simple. There is a single screw at the top corner of the assembly (between the headlight and the marker light) that secures the marker light to the headlight. Easy access from above when you open the hood. Then pull the light straight forwards. The bulb holder is a bayonet mount, so twist and pull to get it out from the lamp. Moe Hair wrote: > > Just found this on the net. Easy access from above when I should say the screw secures the marker light to the headlight housing, not the actual headlight. The screw in question is number 31 in the drawing at http://tinyurl.com/2j2d4 |
