Default CR-V Ride comfort?

I am looking at vehicles to tow behind a motor home, and also use as a second
vehicle. Since Saturn has decided not to equip vehicles for this purpose,
except for a $23 - $25K Vue, I am looking at the CR-V.

How is the highway ride in the CR-V?

GHOF,

The CRV will feel the bumps in the road a tiny bit more than a 4-door
sedan, but it's not a stoneboat. The older Suzuki Samurai was a
STONEBOAT. I only rode an hour in one, but the shocks felt like they had
been replaced with steel rods.... OUCH !

P.S. You don't have to buy a new CRV to do the towing trick. The
original series does it too.

I have a 2002 CR-V EX and do several 500km trips every year. I find that it
is comfortable in both the driver and passenger position.
Of course, it is not the same level of comfort that in a full size truck but
it is way better than in a car.
I went to a car show recently and looked inside most of the small size SUVs.
IT seemed to me that all of them had less legroom in the back. Also, lot of
them have a higher floor in the trunk reducing the cargo room.

If you think about a new one, check with your dealer to see can you upgrade
the tires. I did not know the tires are bad.

I drive my 2002 LX 40 miles each way to work and back. Last year I drove 55
miles each way. Mostly hwy last year and a mix this year. I think it feels
comfortable. It's a little noisier than my husband's Corolla but it handles
very well and I like sitting up higher than I do in the Corolla.

True, but the 2nd generation ('02 and newer) will do it much more
pleasantly, since the original series is a bit underpowered.
