Hey all. Any rules on storing all season tires? Can you put them outside in
the winter? Can anyone tell me why they have to be put upright and not flat? Winter tires can't be stored outside in the summer but are there any rules when storing them indoors? Thanks in advance! |

Tires shouldn't be stored outside in the winter for the same reason as
in the summer. UV light rots the rubber unless they are completely shielded from sunlight. I know they are supposed to be stored upright, but I have stored them flat for several years. Anyone know if this will cause a problem in the future? If the bags are black plastic garbage bags it should be OK. The
object is to prevent ultraviolet radiation from the sun from getting on the rubber. If light can't pass through the bags that would stop the UV also.
