Default 04 Accord LX windshield glass issue

Now that I've had my 2004 Accord for a month, I've noticed an annoying
issue with the windshield glass. The problem is most noticeable when I
am driving slowly and turning as in navigating a parking lot. As I
drive and look thru different areas of the windshield, I can see a
rather large, distorted area on the passenger side of the windshield.
I know car glass has a tendency to exhibit this type of distortion if
you look at it "just right." However, under the same driving
conditions, I've never noticed this amount of distortion in any other
car I have ever driven.

Has anyone else had this particular problem with their Accord?

Not a Honda but I have the distorted glass in my 04 Toyota Corolla side
mirrors. I never saw this in any other car in my life. Must be something
"new" they're doing now.

A distorted windshield is a somewhat common "defect" reported over the
years the Consumer Reports car reviews. I think you get have it
replaced under warranty.

I have seen Consumer Reports occasionally list optically distorted glass as
a factory defect when they test new cars. Take it back to the dealer and
demand a windshield that is not defective under the new car warranty.

Thanks for all the responses.

I'm fairly certain that I could show/prove that the glass is defective
to the dealer. Now, I just have to make sure that replacing it is
what I really want them to do. I just went thru a windshield
replacement on another of my vehicles and I saw what they had to do to
the car to actually replace it. The process is not as "clean" as I
thought it would be.

Anyway, at least I know I have an option to consider.

Best Regards,

Dave C.

yes you right, the dealer did this to my brother in law on a nissan
truck about 15 yrs ago.... headlining falling down on a new truck...
brought it in. the dealer cracked the windshield and said he brought it
in with the crack,, they never did pay for a new glass, his insurance
comp. picked up the tab....
