But I still plan to take her over 200,000 miles. Maybe more, depending on how the rust looks. Can't beat 42+ miles per gallon. Plus, from this newsgroup I feel like I have a pretty good command of what's likely to go wrong. Edmunds.com indicates a 1995 white Prelude Si manual transmission with 171,500 miles and in "clean" condition (which is the second from the top condition) goes for the following where I live: Trade-In: $3,600 Private Party: $4,600 Dealer: $6,300 Your seller's window price of $7k may reflect a different location. Seems like pretty much a toss-up to me, given (1) what you could get if you sold either; (2) the higher mileage of the Prelude vs. the Accord; (3) the higher age of the Accord vs. the Prelude. The deciding factors to me would be which is more fun to drive and maybe miles per gallon. |

I can speak well about the accord, my buddy has a 1993 Accord LX with
340,000 on it, and he drove it on a 4000 or so km trip last summer with no issues, and it is still going strong... I would say stop telling people how good a price ya got on that prelude, patch up the paint chips, get it profesionally detailed, maby some new tires or something and try to sell it for like 5000... shouldnt be a problem to get that price at all... especially for a 1995 so, IMHO , make some money on the prelude, and drive the accord till it dies... it will go for a while yet!! -Daniel "Caroline" <caroline10027remove@earthlink.net> wrote in message news:fzIHb.9523$lo3.7788@newsread2.news.pas.earthl ink.net... > "LovingPerson" <saylo1234@aol.com> wrote > snip > > My buddy has an Accura which is basically a Honda in disguise. > > It is a 91 Legend LS with leather. that sounds like a great deal. the non vtec model is 160HP. the canadian or
JDM model, SRV I believe is the F20 motor, which is nonvtec higher compression and probably 190hp (not too sure, I live in the states, no SRVs here). your 1990-1993 accord is very compatible with your prelude, engine/tranny/radiator/suspension, basically all chassis parts are interchangable with one another. you could always get the JDM H22 motor for more power, around 210HP and LSD transmission will really put a kick in the butt on your prelude. that motor is also a direct BOLT IN, and plug in. you just need to run 4 wires to the ecu. good luck and great find! Take the time to teach your wife how to drive a stick. Then you won't have to base your decision solely on her ability to drive it. If I had the space and insurance was not too expensive, I would keep both. ------------- Alex |
