Hello;
Thanks for reply. Please see my post, and several answers, on 12/25 re my quest on the Accord "Micro Chip" key. Am trying to understand why, if it's so effective, the Accords are still near the top of the stolen car lists ? Especially if it's been in use since 1998 ? Any thoughts on ? Thanks, Bob --------------------------------- "BB TACO" <bbtaco@spamnot.com> wrote in message news:hvSdnRaAVKCgMHCi4p2dnA@comcast.com... > 1998 > > "Robert11" <rgsxrose@comcast.net> wrote in message > news:t-Gdnce4_fkg53CiRVn-jg@comcast.com... > > Hello: > > > > What was the first model-year usage for the Accord micro chip ignition key > ? > > > > R. > > > > |

The answer in most of them is that it is the older accords that are still on the list. |

Find lists that collect data SINCE 1998, and you'll find that the Accord is no longer anywhere near the top. You've been told this, but somehow you don't want to believe it. |

I'm just passing on what is being said in this group. |

The list I saw, and don't remember where I saw it, showed that the stolen Accords were earlier models, like generation 3 and 4, not current models. Dick |

I was very interested in these details as well since I owned 1998 Accord. All subsequent "top stolen" car type lists that did happen to have year information showed late 80's and early 90's Accords as most stolen. Camry is the same. Aside from simple joy rides, vehicle theft happens for spare parts, which becomes sparse and hard to find for old cars, thus salvaging old parts becomes fairly profitable. It'd be interesting to see what happens to the sixth generation Accords in 10 years. Lee Cao |
