I had a freak accident today and the rear bumper of my 93 honda civic
got ripped off. What happened was that I was backing my car in the parking lot, and the iron chain from the loading dock of a giant truck got stuck between the bumper and the rest of my car. As I tried driving forward, the chain ripped off the bumper from my car. So can I just have the bumper reattached, or do I need a new bumper? How much would replacing the bumper cost me (if I do need one)? I just looked on ebay and found I can get a rear bumper for my car for about $100. So can I buy one and reattach it myself? Thanks |

Did the chain pass into the wheel well and grab the end of the bumper? 2) Was the styrofoam broken up as well? 3) Was the steel reinforcing bar bent, or just the plastic skin? The bumper itself is easy to remove, just four bolts, a few screws and an electrical connector. It's a bit awkward to handle though, so you might want a helper. -- TeGGeR® |

You can get new after-market bumper-covers from
http://www.hondaautobodypartstore.co...HOCIVIC76.html. As Tegger said, reattachment is easy. If your sender's e-mail address is valid I'll send you relevant scans from the service manual. compareprospector wrote: > > I had a freak accident today and the rear bumper of my 93 honda civic > got ripped off. Is it a coupe, sedan or a hatchback?

Too often aftermarket fits poorly and takes lots of fuiddling to look right. > http://www.hondaautobodypartstore.co...arts/HOCIVIC76 > .html. As Tegger said, reattachment is easy.
