I've been slightly curious about this for a while ...
On r/h drive cars.. is the gas pedal still designed for the right foot? or is it mirrored? same w/ the gear shifting.. is 1st gear still to the left? -- -Chris http://www.ChrisGarcia.com <- My Homepage http://www.chrisgarcia.com/cars/ <- *NEW* My cars http://www.chrisgarcia.com/dogs/ <- *Sort-of NEW* My dogs http://starwars.chrisgarcia.com/ <- Centerpoint Station, the "ghost-town" of the Star Wars Universe! |

Gear shift is the same, no mirroring. Same with pedals, no mirroring.

Randolph is correct.
In a RHD car, the clutch is up against the transmission tunnel, gas is near the door. Feet are harder to re-train than hands. --TeGGeR® Randolph <trash@junkmail.com> spake unto the masses in news:3FE4CB31.84FD62E0@junkmail.com: > Gear shift is the same, no mirroring. I'll second the feet comment. Never could break the habit of walking up to
the left door while in Australia for a week. Had to backpedal around to the driver's door each time. However, some RHD cars have the signal stalk on the right and wipers on the
left, while others have the wipers on the right and signal on the left. "Randolph" <trash@junkmail.com> wrote in message news:3FE4CB31.84FD62E0@junkmail.com... > Gear shift is the same, no mirroring. When I had a tour of duty in the UK 20 years ago I never I had any problems adjusting to right hand drive from left hand. Roundabouts were more interesting, however. |
