The choke is not heating up and closing as fast as it should, since it gets
its power from the same source as the alt light, but that does not account for such a high idle. If you have an automatic, suspect Frequency Solenoid C. |

Put a new > > alternator in. > Regarding the high idle, it's a LX. Thanks The choke heater is part of the alternator light circuit. First make sure the heater's not part of the problem. Disconnect the 3-pin connector at the back on the alternator and turn ignition on. If the light is off the alternator is bad. If the light is on, you have a short problem. |
