I've searched the newsgroups, found some tips, and even bought the Chilton
book, but I'd still like a few more details on replacing the front speakers in my 1999 Accord Coupe (EX/V6). I got the door latch/auto lock piece out, and then took out the screw that goes vertical down into the handle. Okay...then what? Am I just supposed to start pulling out the entire door covering? Do I need to remove the trim piece up by the mirror? Do I need to remove the weather stripping that runs underneath the door right against the trim panel? I bought a trim-removal tool...but I guess I got too scared of messing something up to just stick it behind the panel and start prying it up. Any advice from someone who has actually done this on the 99 Accord Coupe would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! DJN |

HAVE YOU BOUGHT THE SPEAKERS YET? IF NOT CCHECK OUT
http://www.crutchfield.com/ BECAUSE IF YOU ORDER FROM THEM THE WILL GIVE YOU A SET OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR 99 ACCORD AND ANY NECESSARY WIRING HARNESS TO HELP EASE THE INSTALLATION OF THE SPEAKERS ON YOUR CAR. YOU COULD EVEN BUY TOOLS FROM THEM TO HELP PRY OPEN THE DOOR COVERING. There is a big one below the side view mirror. You can see it on the door panel. After all the clips are free, lift upwards to remove the door panel. Disconnect any wiring harnesses are there and then move on to the speaker. As for the speaker, I hope you've found a direct replacement because I had to custom make a speaker mounting ring for the 6.5" Focal midbass I dropped in. Lee Cao |
