Default CHECK engine light was O2 sensor!!!!

The check engine light turned out to be an overheated O2 sensor and I have
until my next inspection/emission to get a replacement!!!

No damage will occur but I will fail my next emission test!

Thankfully I have until April!!!

Wrong address. Should be:

My apologies.

Yes, all that can happen is burn up the catalytic converter....

Yeah, and a catalytic converter costs a hell of a lot more than an O2
sensor. Replace that O2 sensor right away. They're relatively cheap and it
will prevent damage to the much more expensive parts of your car.

Do not wait. The failed sensor will end up letting your engine run lean or
rich. If it runs rich, you risk burning the catalytic converter. Run it
lean and you risk burning the valves (less common).

Replace it now.

Not necessarily, a failed O2 censor leads to rich conditions, dramatically
lowering fuel economy and lead to premature catalytic converter replacement.
My advice is to replace the O2 sensor ASAP.
