Is is possible to perform a visual check of the 2001 Civic VTEC timing
belt WITHOUT removing the valve cover ? To me, it looks like the plastic inspection cover cannot be removed without lifting at least the front of the valve cover about 1/4-inch ? |

Are you within the time/mileage limits for timing belt change? That's the critical thing, not inspection. As far as how to check it, if the setup is anything like the B-series engines, you will need to remove the valve cover to inspect. You should be about due for a valve clearance check anyway. -- TeGGeR® |
