Default is this a good deal or not?

Hey everyone! I am considering a car and am wondering if this is a good
deal or not. Someone is selling a manual 99 Accord LX with 82K miles on
it, engine in great shape, inside in great shape, but it has a cracked
windshield and some scrapes and wrinkled body damage to one of the front
side panels and is missing the side mirror. They are asking $7000.

What would make this car a good buy considering I will have to get this
fixed? I know someone who can help me fix it for about half of what most
shops charge since they use used parts, but I am not sure if this is worth
the headache or not. If it's an absolute steal and I will still pay less
after all is said & done, I would consider it.

What do you think?

Hehnia

dunno... check edmunds. com for the price. if you buy, just fix the
windshield and the mirror- thats all you really need.

According to Edmunds - it may only be worth $7-8k without needing the
repairs. Then comes the question about other potential, unseen damage
from the obvious accident. You should plug the actual car information
into Edmunds site to get a better estimate, but it sounds like problems
and not all that great a deal to to me.

I wouldn't pay more than $5900. It costs $500 to replace the windshield.
