Default 96 Accord Timing Belt Change - No Start

I've just replaced the timing belt (following the instructions in the Honda
repair manual) and now the car won't start! It turns over but won't start.
Now if the camshaft pulley and crank pulley are off by just 1 tooth will the
car fail to start? I'd think it would start but just not idle. Should
rotating the distributor help?

Thanks

Kofi

I believe the distributor (with cylinder position sensors etc.) is
driven by the camshaft on that engine, so rotating the distributor would
not be the way to go ( I assume you didn't move / remove the
distributor). As you suggested, with the valve timing off by a tooth or
two the engine would still at least make attempts to catch.

I would carefully check that you got the spark plug wires back in the
correct order.

Never mind,

the CKP/TDC connector wasn't fully engaged.....I opened up the connection to
move it out of the way so that I could get that ridiculous lower timing belt
cover off. Car started right up after I fixed that. I *was* freaking out for
a while though.
Thx

Kofi
